MicroLaserPeel removes a thin layer of damaged skin to help improve skin texture. It can be tailored to treat specific concerns such as mild wrinkles, scars, pigmentation and sun damage. The skin will be left looking healthier and more even. MicroLaserPeel can be used at different depths to address specific patient concerns.*
Prior to treatment the skin is numbed with topical anaesthetic. The MicroLaserPeel’s beam is scanned over the treatment area to remove a very thin layer of skin. Removing the top layer eliminates some of the damaged cells that can give the skin a tired, aged look. As the skin heals, fresh cells grow and resurface the treated area.*
Recovery from MicroLaserPeel
Straight after the MicroLaserPeel, the skin will be red, resembling a deep sunburn. Mild swelling may occur and the skin will be hot for the remainder of the day. After a few days, the treated area will begin to flake and redness will start to subside. Depending on the depth of the peel, full recovery is expected between 5-10 days.*
MLP uses an Erbium: YAG laser which targets the water in the skin. This makes it a safer procedure for darker skin types as it is not specifically targeting pigment therefore minimising the risk of hyperpigmentation. The Erbium:YAG resurfaces the epidermal layers of the skin. Once the skin has healed it will be smoother in texture and brighter in appearance.
We will advise you on preparation needed for your specific circumstances. Prepare yourself to have a few days downtime (5-6 days out of sight) as you will be red, like a deep sunburn. We will provide you with a post laser kit to care for your skin during recovery.
