They are used for filling lines and wrinkles as well as softening deep facial folds or contours. Gel anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to augment lips and make them appear fuller. Gel cosmetic injections are both biodegradable and biocompatible, which means they require no allergy testing. Collagen cosmetic injections are superior for treating fine lines and wrinkles, and gel fillers are suitable for softening curves and contours as well as lip enhancement.

The Gel Cosmetic Injections Procedure

Gel cosmetic anti-wrinkle injections are a quick, minimally invasive procedure that can be performed during your lunch hour. Gel cosmetic anti-wrinkle treatments involve a number of fine injections. A local anaesthetic can be used with the product to minimise discomfort. There are three grades of gel cosmetic injections available that treat fine lines, wrinkles and deeper folds. The injected gel is gradually broken down and absorbed by your body, just like your body's own natural hyaluronic acid. You may require multiple procedures two to three times per year, depending on your cosmetic needs and goals.

Lip Enhancement Injections

Lip enhancement injections add volume and definition to your lips and reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles around the mouth. The lip enhancement procedure is ideal if you have naturally thin lips or lips that have thinned with age. There are many ways of achieving upper and lower lip enhancement. The most commonly used methods involve collagen replacement therapy and viscoelastic hyaluronic gel implants. There are also specific methods of structural fat grafting that can provide lip enhancement combined with a facelift. However, injectable fat has been proven to be disappointing for long-term lip enhancement due to variability in results.

The Lip Enhancement Procedure

Injectable dermal fillers are fast and effective methods for lip enhancement that require additional treatments two to three times per year. Dermal fillers can improve lip borders by defining the rim of the lip, and augment the lip body (pink of the lip) to enhance shape and fullness for a plumper, sexier pout. Lip enhancement treatment takes less than 30 minutes and can be performed during your lunch hour. A local anaesthetic is used with the product to minimise any discomfort.

Recovery after Lip Enhancement

Your lips may be slightly swollen for two to three hours after lip enhancement treatment. There is no downtime associated with lip enhancement and you can return to work immediately after treatment.

Dermal Fillers

Over time, skin loses its tight, firm and youthful appearance and can become damaged and lose natural elasticity. This can cause your face to look thin and narrow, which makes you look older than you are. Today there is a range of injectable dermal fillers available to smooth fine facial lines and wrinkles, plump the lips, and fill deeper folds and depressed scars. Dermal fillers work particularly well when combined with muscle-relaxer injections or facelift surgery. Stimulation from dermal fillers can also encourage the increase of volume of connective tissue to your dermis, giving a more youthful appearance.

The Dermal Fillers Procedure

Generally, two to three treatments of dermal fillers may be required to achieve your desired result. These treatments are given at two-month intervals. A local anaesthetic injection with topical anaesthetic is used to minimise any discomfort. The results are natural looking and become apparent over time. Treatment takes as little as 30 minutes.

Recovery after Treatment

You may experience slight redness, bruising and swelling after treatment. Although some results are noticeable after the first treatment, they are more visible after four to six weeks. Cosmetic enhancement provided by the series of treatments may last more than 18 months.

Collagen Replacement Therapy

The way your skin looks is directly related to the way it is supported. Collagen replacement therapy can lift or soften lines on the surface of the skin by supplementing the collagen inside the skin. These injections have been used for many years to treat facial "expression" lines, wrinkles, acne scars, and other soft tissue deficiencies.

The Collagen Replacement Therapy Procedure

Two types of collagen replacement therapy are available at our practice: bovine collagen and human collagen. Bovine collagen requires a skin test to determine whether you are sensitive to it (97 percent of people can be treated). Human collagen requires no skin test and can be given on the same day as your consultation. The 30 to 40 minute treatment offers immediate improvement. An anaesthetic agent is mixed in with the product but an anaesthetic injection is also offered for your comfort. To maintain a smooth complexion, touch-up collagen replacement therapy treatments are usually required two to three times a year.

Recovery after Collagen Replacement Therapy

Following collagen replacement therapy treatments, there is no downtime required although you may feel slight stinging for a short time afterwards. Any minor bruising, swelling or redness will disappear in a few days. Just like natural collagen, collagen replacement therapy begins to lose its form and will eventually wear down. Results can be maintained with ongoing treatments.
